Our Hoppers Tradition banjo was designed and set up by Missouri banjo legend and former Blue Grass Boy Lonnie Hoppers. Lonnie wanted an all mahogany banjo with a Tennessee 20 tone ring, a Jimmy Cox three ply maple rim, "Reno pattern" Flying Eagle inlay, and Hoppers cam type d-tuners built in. A maple cross piece is built into the headstock to reinforce the double cut peghead for the drilled holes for the Hoppers d-tuners, making for a very stable install for the Hoppers d-tuners. Lonnie does the setup on these banjos. Lonnie loved the more reddish stain of one of Mark's Franzke banjos and asked for that color on his Hoppers Tradition banjo. Lonnie says this banjo has great bluegrass tone and is very easy to play. As it came out, the Hoppers Tradition banjo is very close in design to the classic Gibson RB-75 banjo.
